Egyptian Throwing Game

Short Description

A throwing game for small teams where you must throw at the person who is not clapping.

Group Size: 4 players (2 teams of 2 people) or 8, 12, 16, etc.
Difficulty: Medium
Materials: 1 ball
Game Duration: 5-10 minutes

Game Description:

The basic structure of this game likely originates from Egypt. Two groups, each consisting of two people, stand facing each other.

One person from a group (Group 1) has a ball. One person from the opposing group (Group 2) must then clap. It's important that the people within a group do not coordinate or communicate extensively.

The person with the ball from Group 1 must now throw it to the person from Group 2 who is not clapping.

A group scores a point if:

  • the other group fails to catch the ball
  • the other group reacts too slowly
  • the other group throws the ball incorrectly (i.e., at the person who clapped)

The group that first reaches a predetermined score wins the game.

The game can likely be played with more people, but it is generally best suited for very small groups.
