Dragons and Dwarves

Short Description

"Dragons and Dwarves" is a tag game for medium-sized groups where dwarves try to steal a dragon's treasure while the dragon attempts to turn them to stone. Teamwork is crucial!

Group Size: Medium
Difficulty: Easy
Materials: A box with cloths (as treasure), enough space to play
Game Duration: Approx. 5-10 minutes

Game Description:

The group chooses one player to be the dragon. The dragon's task is to protect its treasure (a box of cloths).

The remaining players are dwarves. They start on the opposite side of the room and try to steal the dragon's treasure. However, the dwarves may only move with small tiptoe steps.

Once a dwarf reaches the treasure, they may only take one cloth from the box and bring it back to the "safe dwarf area."

The dragon can defend itself by tagging the dwarves, thus turning them to stone. Petrified dwarves stand with their legs spread apart and can be freed by other dwarves crawling between their legs. Only dwarves who are not currently holding a cloth may free other dwarves.

The game is won when all the treasure is on the dwarves' side.

Variation: The dragon can get an "invisible" helper who also moves back and forth with tiptoe steps and brings the stolen cloths back to the dragon. The helper may also only carry one cloth at a time.
