Clap Theater
Brief Description
A theater game where frozen images are changed and expanded by clapping.
Group Size: 4 to 20 players
Difficulty: Quite easy
Materials: None
Duration: Approx. 7 minutes
Game Description:¶
This game can be played in two variations.
Variations:¶
Variation 1¶
Two, three, or four players together form a frozen image in front of the other participants. Everyone else watches. Anyone who has an idea of how they could replace a player in the existing image with a different pose claps their hands loudly once. They can then step forward and tap the person they wish to replace. That person leaves their spot and joins the audience. The player who clapped now takes the considered pose, and the next person can clap. To expand on this further, an image can be created where each person in the image performs a small movement. This can lead to very funny new images. One step further would be to add a sound to each movement.
Variation 2¶
The same principle as the first variation, but one player starts, then another claps, joins in, and this continues until everyone is integrated into the image. This is the important aspect of this version, and of the game in general: interaction with each other!
