Partner Exercise: Passing Juggling¶
Two people face each other. One person (A) has two objects (one in each hand), and the second person (B) has one object (in one hand).
The person with two objects starts (A). They throw diagonally/crossed from one hand to the empty hand of (B). This means: if (B)'s right hand is empty at the start, (A) also starts with their right hand (as it's a mirror image).
Subsequently, (A) always throws crossed, and (B) always throws straight. Throws alternate between right and left hands. The pattern can be slowed down as much as desired since there is at most one object in the air at any time, and it can be paused at any moment.
The same pattern can also be juggled in other spatial arrangements. For example, one person kneels, the second stands behind the kneeling person, so their hands are one above the other.
This is also a good pattern for introducing the cascade to a beginner, as one person performs the cascade pattern with crossed throws, while the second person merely "slows down" this pattern.
