Passing Hoops in a Circle

Brief Description

A circle game where one or more hoops are passed around the connected group without breaking hand contact.

Group Size: 5-30 people
Difficulty: Easy
Materials: Hoops
Playtime: 5-10 minutes

Game Description:

All children stand in a circle, holding hands.
One or more (hula hoop) hoops are placed around the group. To do this, one child reaches through the hoop and then grabs their neighbor's hand again, so the hoop is "hanging in the circle."

The hoop is then passed from child to child around the circle without breaking hand contact. Each child must also step through the hoop.

Variations:

You can also use two or more hoops to create a "chase." The goal then is for one hoop to catch up to or overtake another.
