Knights and Dwarves

Brief Description

A reaction game where a group of dwarves reacts to a knight's stick movements by ducking, jumping, and dodging.

Group Size: 8 to 20 players
Difficulty: Simple
Materials: One stick (broomstick)
Playtime: 5 to 10 minutes

Game Description:

The group stands together in a huddle. The participants are dwarves who want to protect their treasure behind them.
The game leader (or a person from the group) is the knight, who fights against the dwarves to steal their treasure.
The knight has a stick that they can swing either high (above the dwarves' heads, but with a safe distance), low (along the ground), or through the middle (also indicated with a safe distance) of the dwarf huddle. The dwarves must react to these movements.
If the stick is swung high, they must duck.
If the stick is swung low, they must jump.
If the strike comes through the middle, the huddle must split in the middle, but then immediately close again so the knight cannot get through to the treasure.
If a dwarf reacts incorrectly or too late, they are out.
The game is won when all dwarves have been eliminated and the knight reaches the treasure.
