Seals and Polar Bears

Short Description

"Seals and Polar Bears" is a dynamic chasing game for any group size that promotes coordination, speed, and teamwork. However, it requires careful facilitation and is not suitable for every group.

Group Size: Any
Difficulty: Medium
Materials: None
Game Duration: Approx. 10-15 minutes

Game Description:

One person is designated as the polar bear. This person stands at one end of the playing area, facing the seals. Everyone else moves on all fours.

At the facilitator's starting signal, the seals try to reach the other side of the playing area.

The polar bear tries to prevent this by flipping the seals onto their backs. If successful, the flipped seals also become polar bears.

The last seal remaining wins.

IMPORTANT: Participants must not pull on clothing, and everyone must always be mindful of others' safety (e.g., avoid four people pulling one person in different directions). The facilitator should always be positioned beside the playing area to intervene if necessary.

A reflection session can follow the game.

❗This game cannot be played with every group (e.g., groups with a high potential for conflict).
