Slalom in a Row

Short Description

A warm-up game for small groups where participants move one after another through a line, crawling or climbing.

Group Size: 3-25 people
Difficulty: Easy
Materials: None
Duration: 5-10 minutes

Game Description:

A warm-up game for small to medium-sized groups. Offers plenty of room for variations.

Form small groups of 3-5 people. Participants in each group stand in a line, one behind the other. There should always be enough space between individuals to walk through comfortably.

The groups should have enough space between them so they don't interfere with each other.
Various sequences are described below.

Variations:

Slalom

The last person in the line starts by weaving through the people in front of them until they reach the front of the line. They then stand there.
The second-to-last person starts weaving behind as soon as they become the last person in the line.

High / Low

The people in the line stand alternately upright with legs spread and crouched down as small as possible. The last person in line starts again – crawling through spread legs, doing a leapfrog over a crouched person.

Dog Tunnel

Each person in the group assumes the yoga pose "Downward-Facing Dog" – feet and hands on the floor, legs extended, hips raised so the body forms a triangle with the floor.
Each person turns to the right, forming a tunnel (everyone turns right and assumes the position).
The last person in line crawls through this tunnel. Upon reaching the other side, they return to the Downward-Facing Dog position.

Push-Up

Each person in the group turns to the right and assumes a push-up position; arms can remain extended. The last person in line steps over the others. Upon reaching the other side, they return to the push-up position.

Notes:

--> Many other variations can be invented. The key is to keep the sequences simple and not have too many people in one group.
