Lost Child

Quick Description

An icebreaker game where children find matching group members based on characteristic clues.

Group Size: 5-20 people
Difficulty: Medium (requires prior knowledge of the group)
Materials: None
Duration: Approx. 20-30 minutes

Game Description:

For this game, the children should already know each other a little within the group. However, even then, the game should begin with an introductory round where everyone takes turns sharing something particularly characteristic about themselves.

Now, everyone walks around the room. Then, the facilitator starts the game and says, for example:

"Find the boy who also likes to be outside in the rain." or "Find the girl who plays soccer particularly well."

The children walk over to the child being referred to and shake their hand.

The child who was (correctly) guessed then chooses a child who can pose the next search riddle. The gender of the child to be guessed doesn't have to be revealed, but it does make it easier to solve. Also, not only positive behaviors or abilities need to be mentioned. However, negative statements should always be paired with positive ones and remain friendly in wording.

"Find the child who gets offended quickly, but can help others wonderfully."

As the children become more familiar with each other, the search tasks should ideally not focus solely on external appearances.
