Team Rock-Paper-Scissors
Brief Description
A team reaction game where groups choose characters and then either tag or flee after revealing them.
Group Size: 14+ players
Difficulty: Simple
Materials: None
Duration: Approx. 10 minutes
Game Description:¶
All players are divided into two equal teams. The game leader has previously decided on three different characters, each with a distinct sound and posture. For example, these could be: Dragon, Princess, and Knight. It's important that there's a logical hierarchy of who beats whom, similar to rock-paper-scissors. For instance: The Dragon easily kidnaps the Princess, the Knight defeats the Dragon, and the Princess seduces the Knight. The two assigned teams now discuss which of the three characters they will choose. Afterward, the teams meet in the middle of the playing area, facing each other in a line with about two arm's lengths between them. The game leader counts down from three, and at zero, both teams reveal their chosen character. The team whose character beats the other team's character can now try to tag the players of the losing team. The losing team tries to escape behind their starting line on the playing field. Anyone tagged before reaching their line switches teams.
The characters can be freely invented based on preference, mood, or a potential theme. The main thing is that the posture and sound of each character are clearly distinguishable from the others.
