Zah
Brief Description
A fast-paced energy circle game where impulses are received and passed on with clear movements.
Group Size: 6+ participants
Difficulty: Quite easy
Materials: None
Duration: Approx. 5 minutes
Game Description:¶
This is also a circle game. One person standing in the circle holds their hands together, palms facing each other, above their head. This person has the "energy." They pass the energy on with a loud "Zah!" by pointing their hands above their head towards another person. The person pointed at receives the energy. They do this by performing the opposite movement: bringing their hands together in front of their body and moving them upwards over their head. While doing this movement, the player again loudly calls out "Zah!" The two neighbors of this player now "cut" through them from the side. This also involves bringing both hands together and moving them past the player's side with a loud "Zah!" This is done without touching! Once the player who has the energy has been "cut through," they pass the energy on to someone else in the circle, just like the first player. Once all participants understand the game, you can also play with elimination. If someone is too slow, forgets to call "Zah!", makes the wrong movement, or makes another mistake, they must sit down. But watch out! This creates new neighbors for the "cutting" action, because only the players who are standing can participate. So, one, two, three, five, or ten participants might be sitting in between, but you are still always the neighbor of the next standing player. "Zah" is most fun when it goes really fast!
Variations:¶
For those who find the command "Zah" too monotonous, you can use different sounds. The energy is sent off: Zah. The energy is received: Zii. The energy is cut through: Zoh. This immediately makes the game significantly more challenging.
