Short Description

A contact-juggling knockout game where players protect their own ball balance while disturbing others.

contact-ball-gladiators

Group Size: 3 to 30 players
Difficulty: mittel
Material: Contact balls, usually four per player for a pyramid
Duration: approx. 5-10 minutes

Game Description

Each player starts with the agreed contact-ball shape. The documented JugglingWorld version uses a four-ball pyramid. Players move through the arena and try to disturb other players' shapes while keeping their own intact.

A player is out when a ball drops, the shape breaks, or they use illegal contact. In the four-ball pyramid version, players may nudge another player's pyramid only with their own pyramid. Fingers, free hands, body pushes and throwing are not allowed. The last player with the required shape intact wins.

Setup

  • Agree on the required shape, such as a single balanced ball or a four-ball pyramid.
  • Mark a small arena.
  • Define legal contact before the round starts.

Variations

  • Use a single ball balance for beginners.
  • Require a four-ball pyramid for advanced players.
  • Run quiet slow-motion rounds where speed is not allowed.

Safety Notes

Contact balls can be heavy. Keep the game slow and forbid throwing, striking, hand pushing and body checks.
