Diabolo Highest Throw
Short Description
A diabolo throwing contest where the highest clean throw and catch wins.

Group Size: 2 to 40 players
Difficulty: mittel
Material: One diabolo and handsticks per player, open high space
Duration: approx. 5-10 minutes
Game Description¶
All players throw their diabolos high at the same time and must catch cleanly to stay in the game. A player is out if the throw is unsafe, uncatchable or not caught cleanly.
Repeat rounds until only a few players remain. In the final, the winner is the player who makes the highest safe throw and still catches it.
Setup¶
- Use a high indoor hall or outdoor space with no overhead obstacles.
- Mark a throwing area and keep spectators well outside the landing zone.
- Decide whether players must catch their own diabolo or may catch any diabolo.
Variations¶
- Allow catching any diabolo for chaotic convention play.
- Require each player to catch their own diabolo for a stricter version.
- Use distance-to-self instead of height.
- Allow partner catches for a team version.
Safety Notes¶
High diabolos are hard and unpredictable. Clear the landing area and stop if throws drift toward spectators.
