5-Step Method

Functional Approach 200

1) Concepts Before Components

[[Tisch bzw. Körperjonglage]] activities to develop understanding and experience with the task. This can also include using the Juggleboard or similar devices.

2) Sequencing Ability

[[Cow jumps over the moon]] sequence to develop the bilateral sequencing capacity required for timing the 3-ball cascade.

Classical Approach 200

3) Classic Continuation

Practicing throws with one, two, or three balls. See also classic models of learning to juggle (linear learning).

The main difference from the classical model is therefore the introduction of two new steps. The use of equipment like the Juggleboard or [[Tisch/Körperjonglage]] to understand the concept more easily, as well as Craig's clearly defined practice sequence ("[[Cow jumps over the moon]]").

Opinion: I don't find it radically different; it's simply an extension of the classic model.

Facts

A simple definition of 5-Step Method:
5 steps to learn juggling for everyone

5-Step Method is part of...
Theory of Functional Juggling

5-Step Method consists of the following parts...

5-Step Method has similarities to ... through ...
[[Atomisieren von Bewegungen]] by IN.ZIRQUE
it attempts to analyze, simplify, and make movement learning more accessible

5-Step Method differs from ... through ...
unlike [[Atomisieren von Bewegungen]], movements are not continuously broken down / taken apart; instead, concepts are modified.

5-Step Method can cause...
finding an entry point to juggling for people who haven't succeeded with classic approaches

5-Step Method results from...
it can be seen as a result of considering how to make juggling more inclusive.
It is also a result of consistently following the construction of [[methodische reihen]].

In which other areas does 5-Step Method apply?
the base idea, using help, breaking stuff down even more - applies to all fields of learning

Metaphors, etc...

What would 5-Step Method exclaim if it could?
I am inclusive

5-Step Method is approximately like...
learning to ride with training wheels or using floaties

5-Step Method reminds me of...
[[Atomisieren von Bewegungen]] by IN.ZIRQUE
but instead of

Opinion and Experience

I have experienced 5-Step Method as...

5-Step Method is good because...

5-Step Method is bad because...

5-Step Method is important because...
it makes juggling more accessible, it focuses on the aspect of breaking things down even more and applying helping mechanics.
it is also important because: it doesn't simply reduce the number of objects; on the contrary, you start with 3 at the beginning, but other aspects that cause difficulty are adapted.

A question I have for/about 5-Step Method...
can it be generalized so that it applies not only to "learning the cascade" but also to other things?

Organizational

Which tags fit here?
since I believe that functional juggling should not be limited only to juggling, and thus appears in other, non-circus areas, it should have its own tag, e.g.
"(#)Genre/Functional Juggling"

Which MOC should link here?
it is already linked to Functional Juggling
